Dearest stream of wondering wonders Sara,
All year, the word NEW waits for this time of year.
People exclaim and sing the word new.
We make fresh plans and look with bright eyes at possibilities.
We say things like "New Year, New You."
If there were difficulties, we like to think or hope that the new year will erase them, or at least it will put them into "last" year.
Not many people say "Happy Old Year!"
I realize it's not as popular as the new;-)
I like to bring the old year along with me as I proceed into the new, and mix them together into a kind of blended rhapsody.
I like to practice honoring the previous and welcoming the new.
And of course sometimes I find myself clinging to the old and don't welcome the new, and experience myself feeling stuck in the past. I see this particularly when I am resisting changes. My first response to (an unwanted) change is often a great big
NO! Then I soften and remember to keep practicing welcoming the new.
We are constantly moving and changing into new forms of ourselves, and we are inventing and creating what's next.
I created this quote about the old and new, and share it with you now, to inspire your life in this newest year.

I send us all the joys of experiencing the new, and dreaming and living our dreams, and bringing the old with us too.
