Painting With Light

Yesterday we went in the auditorium with Mr. Johnson and his camera and experimented with light painting- something I have always wanted to do! It was exciting. He set the camera to 30 second exposures and after the shutter was opened the flashlights came on, and the we 'painted' in the air for 30 seconds. Here are some of my favorites. The possibilities for additional explorations are endless. Dale suggested I get some of the colored light sticks from Home Depot and use those.

Pinwheels for Peace

I thought I would post some pictures from our recent Pinwheels for Peace Day! Not as big a showing as last year but we still had fun creating and letting our voices be heard.

Batik Paper

One of my favorite pages from my current journal.  Tissue paper covered with a block print.  I want to do some more of this.  Tissue paper is a great way to start a page!  I love layering.  I am currently on the hunt for some great handmade paper that I can find locally. Not having much luck.

Mental Block

This is one of the pages from last year that I did when I couldn't think of anything to do during the "Sketchbook Challenge."  I was having a mental block. So I did a page about mental blocks....how I felt that my head was blocked and all ideas were denied entrance.  I normally dislike using red....but it is the perfect color to depict frustration and anger!
